Paterson can't wait to get back behind the mayor's chair

He says he will continue to lobby the province and the feds on issues that matter to the residents of Kingston.

Bryan Paterson is eager to get back in the mayor's chair.

His first council meeting back as mayor of Kingston will be next Tuesday night.

Paterson took leave from his mayoral duties last month to run for the Conservatives in the riding of Kingston and the Islands in the federal election.

He has had a few days since election night to reflect on his campaign.

While he lost out to Liberal incumbent and former Kingston mayor Mark Gerretsen, Paterson says he enjoyed the experience in running for office at the federal level.

Paterson says during the campaign, he met with residents who were torn about the prospects of him being their next MP.

Now that Paterson is back as a politician on the municipal level, he says he, along with Gerretsen as MP, will continue to lobby the province and the feds on issues that matter to the residents of Kingston.

Paterson adds he is hoping to get some projects going in the city.
