Police searching for pick-up used in break and enter that prompted hold and secure at 3 Kingston schools

Investigators confirm one of the suspects was carrying a firearm, they don't believe public safety is at risk.

More details are being release regarding Tuesday's investigation into a break and enter in Kingston.

Police were informed about two people breaking into a home in the area of Barbara Ave and Alfred Cres around 10 am.

The suspects fled on foot just before officers arrived.

Investigators say the one of suspects was seen carrying a firearm in a neon-green bag. That prompted police to place three schools in a hold and secure: Kingston Secondary School, Regiopolis Notre-Dame Catholic High School and Molly Brant Elementary School.

Officers searched the area but were not able to locate the suspects. The hold and secure was lifted at around 11:20 am.

Investigators say they are looking for the owner of a black Dodge Ram 1500 with two small stickers/decals in the bottom corners of the rear window that was driven to and from the scene.

They believe this was a targeted attack and that there is no perceived risk to public safety.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kingston Police at 613-549-4660, ext. 0 or email: jfisher@kingstonpolice.ca.
