The Deputy Mayor of Frontenac Islands is the 2026 warden for the County of Frontenac.
Bill Saunders was elected by his County Council peers on Wednesday. Saunders was deputy warden in 2025.
“My commitment is to do my part to ensure Council and staff work collaboratively in addressing the pressing issues of the day while setting the direction for the County's future growth and success,” Saunders said in a statement.
South Frontenac Mayor Ron Vandewal was elected to succeed Saunders as deputy warden.
Saunders and Vandewal will each serve their respective positions for a one-year term.
