Scholarship available for graduating Kingston students

A $2,500 scholarship from My Broadcasting Corporation's Community First Scholarship program will be given to a graduating student.

Students in Kingston have a chance to score a scholarship to further their education.

The parent company of KingstonDaily.ca, My Broadcasting Corporation, is offering a $2,500 scholarship to one lucky student who can best explain what it means to be part of a community.

The Community First Scholarship program is open to students who are in their senior year and will be in a post-secondary institution this fall whether it is a community college, university, or a trade program.

General manager of KingstonDaily.ca, 98.3 FLY FM, New Country 98.9, and 102.7 WOW FM, Paul Burton says the company understands how important it is for young people to get a better education.

As part of the application, students must submit a 1-to-2-minute video or audio recording that answers the question: "What does community mean to you?"

Burton says he is interested in seeing and hearing the responses from applicants.

Application deadline is Tuesday June 3 at 7 pm.
