Freezing rain and heavy rain warnings in effect for Kingston and Frontenac Islands
A Freezing Rain Warning is in effect for Kingston, Odessa, and Frontenac Islands tonight through early Thursday morning.
Freezing rain is expected, with ice accumulation of 2 to 5 mm. Snow and ice pellets will turn to freezing rain as temperatures rise. Roadways, walkways, and parking lots may become icy and hazardous.
Additionally, a Rainfall Warning is in place, with heavy rain expected to bring 20 to 40 mm of rainfall, possibly more in areas impacted by thunderstorms.
Rain will continue through Thursday morning, potentially causing localized flooding in low-lying areas. Flash floods and water pooling on roads are possible.
Residents are urged to take extra care when driving or walking in affected areas and stay informed about flood risks on air and online here at KingstonDaily.ca.
