Donations are being collected in three locations for the Partners in Mission Food Bank.
It is the All Hands on Deck food drive and readers of KingstonDaily.ca are being asked to lend a hand.
Three stores in Kingston will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items, cash and gift cards for the Partners in Mission Food Bank.
The food drive starts at 10 am Thursday at Giant Tiger on Gardiners Rd., Food Basics on Princess St., and Van Wart's Your Independent Grocer on Gore Rd. and goes until 6 pm.
General manager of My Broadcasting Kingston Paul Burton says he hopes everyone can help fill their vehicles.
Burton says summer is traditionally a slow period for food bank donations.
He says with less than a month before the start of school, they also want to put a focus on items that children need.
Burton says radio personalities from 98.3 FLY-FM, New Country 98.9, and 102.7 WOW-FM will be on hand to collect the donations at the three locations.
This is the first year of the All Hands on Deck Food Drive in Kingston. My Broadcasting Corporation has held this annual initiative for several years in Napanee, Gananoque, Pembrooke, and other markets raising food and cash for local banks.
