Personnel will be performing exercises on land and water, some carrying personal weapons.
You may be seeing military personnel on the streets of Kingston and surrounding areas.
The Department of National Defense announced on Friday that members of the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CSOFC) will be conducting training exercises this week.
Starting on Monday, military personnel will be performing exercises on land and on water in Lake Ontario.
In a news release, CSOFC says residents may notice personnel carrying personal weapons with them out on the water. There will also be civilian and military aircraft taking part in the training.
They say the training should not interfere with any planned activities or events in the Kingston area. But they are asking the public to refrain from approaching personnel if you see them training.
CSOFC says they are extremely thankful for the support and understanding of the local residents during this valuable training.
The training is expected to wrap up this Friday.
